WidgetBucks overview

Posted on January 15th, 2008 in CPC programs, Contextual Ads by web_riches

Widgetbucks has a high cpm rate, advertised as $2-3 CPM, they have contextual widgets based on your site using their MerchSense technology.

They are different from  other networks in that they deliver contextual shopping ads, these ads are also dynamic so that multiple products can be displayed at a time which you setup, so you can have say a 5 second delay between products being displayed.

A key thing is that the ads do not break Google Adsense’s TOS so you can use them on the same page, this is a big thing in many webmasters requirements.

They have a generous referral scheme.

I have just added this to one of my blogs so I’ll keep you posted on how I do with this network.

Kontera review

Posted on January 14th, 2008 in Contextual Ads by web_riches

Kontera have a technology they use which is called ContentLinks, when this added to your website certain keywords will be underlined, when a user hovers over an underlined keyword an add will appear and the user can click on the ad.

This system is obviously best used on a content rich website with plenty of fresh unique articles and features. With a service like this it also pays to research high paying keywords on overture and google adsense as its pretty safe to say this will be the same here.

The feature that I like is that if you have a wordpress blog there is a plugin which does all the grind for you, you simply enable it and then go to its options page and enter your id. Voila inline ads are available on your page.

My current experience is that my CTR is about 1.33%, again high traffic sites will benefit the most.

Adbrite overview

Posted on January 14th, 2008 in Contextual Ads by web_riches

Adbrite is often seen as an alernative to adsense, this can be when someone has been removed from adsense or has a site which is not suitable. Adbrite used to accept adult sites but no longer does.

Adbrite has a lot more to offer than just an ‘adsense alternative’, in particular their ad formats include text ads, full page ads, inline ads , ads in pics whcich the call BritePic and a video solution. As you can see from this offering there are a couple of alternatives that Adsense does not have.

There is an option to set your own pricing or you can let Adbrite handle this and basically you can get advertisers to sign up with their best offers and place their ads on your site.

As is the case with all advertising networks the more successful the site with regards to traffic the more visits and the more potential clicks. If you have a high traffic site the cpm will be to your liking.
